Bruce Fisher, Ph.D.
Senior Consultant
Bruce joined forces with STS back in 2012 and focused his work on executive assessments, leadership development and employee engagement. His passion for leadership is contagious, and he excels at helping leaders become more effective by providing actionable feedback. His particular expertise lies in measurement and validity issues, making sure organizations measure the right things the right way. Bruce’s clients have included, CFS Brands, Harris Associates, Walgreens, Grumman Butkus Associates and Progressive Components.
Prior to joining STS, Bruce was the Director of the Center for Research and Service, a not-for-profit consulting and training center associated with the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT). Bruce led the Center’s consulting services in executive selection and development, employee engagement, 360 degree feedback, and program evaluation. He also served as Director of the IIT Leadership Academy, which is responsible for designing and implementing the university’s leadership development programs and mentoring systems. Earlier in his career, Bruce was a partner at a Chicago-based consulting firm, where he led the firm’s practice area for organizational surveys and validation of employee selection procedures.
Bruce is a member of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP), and is a frequent speaker at psychology conferences on the topics of top talent retention, manager and executive selection, employee engagement and the future of leadership development. He has co-authored book chapters in the Human Resources Program Evaluation Handbook and The Future of Leadership Development. He also serves as an adjunct faculty member in IIT’s graduate program in industrial/organizational psychology.
Bruce received a Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from IIT. He also holds a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Northern Iowa and an M.S. from the University of Louisiana—Monroe.
